Although no matches of the EURO 2012 are held in Toruń, the city at a time of championships will be visited by a number of fans. With its good location halfway between Gdańsk, Poznań or Warsaw, Toruń is attracting and preparing to play host to a large number of fans especially from Ireland (Toruń is just over 150km away from Poznań and Gdańsk, where Ireland will play their three matches. And Irish fans have even organised buses to and from Poznań and Gdańsk, with hundreds expected to travel in a convoy of buses to the matches.).Toruń is good base for the fans not only because of its good location or tourist attractiveness but also because of the lower hotel prices than the prices in the host cities. As for now (end of January) many Toruń hotels have been booked in advance for June.
